Is it already time for Dally in the Alley? This year is the 38th installment of the free annual Cass Corridor event benefitting the North Cass Community Union, and it’s the biggest yet.

On Saturday, September 12th, live music, DJs, art, food and socializing take over Detroit’s historic neighborhood, running between Forest and Hancock, Second Ave and Anthony Wayne (or 3rd).

44 musical acts will take over five stages—the Alley, Forest, Garden, Electronic, and Ann Kennedy Community Stages. Bands include The Luddites, Pink Lightning, Coconut Babylon, Nigel & the Dropout, Cold Men Young, Jena Irene Ascuitto, and headliner Brinae Ali: Destination Forever, and more beginning at noon and taking the stage as late as 11pm.

Amidst the music, the community performance stage includes a poetry slam, fashion show, and a performance from Knight Arts Challenge Detroit People’s Choice Award finalist Heritage Works, an African dance and percussion ensemble.

More than 200 local retail vendors will also offer activities and entertainment, and 10 food vendors will provide nourishment throughout the day, more than any previous year.
