Detroit's adopted architect is celebrated at the annual Burroughs Dinner in John Gallagher's biography of the artist. 

March 8, Hollywood in Detroit
This annual fete begins at the Detroit Film Theatre with a screening of the Oscar-nominated short films before heading across the street to the Detroit Historical Society for food and music. 

March 8, Happy Hour with Pixar
Since adults are just as fond of Pixar films as the little ones, spend a night out enjoying The Henry Ford's The Science Behind Pixar exhibit sans kids while hearing from a Pixar production designer. 

March 15, Penny Stamps Speaker Series: Chelsea Manning
The recently commuted Manning chats in conversation wtih Heather Dewey-Hagborg, a bio-political artist whose creative collaboration with Manning includes using cheek swaps and hair clippings to create DNA-derived portraits. 

March 22-25, Bubble Schmeisis
Head to The Schvitz, a traditional bath house in Detroit, for writer and street performer Nick Cassenbaum's performance with klezmer musicians presented by UMS.

March 23, jessica Care moore at the Arab American National Museum
Celebrate women writers with this evening of poetry.

March 24, Alexandra Silber—Coming Home
The Birmingham-raised writer and singer who has starred in Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway and London's West End comes home to the Detroit Opera House's Black Box Theatre for one night with Cabaret 313.
