Dear CultureSource Members,

We are pleased to welcome Omari Rush as our new Executive Director on September 25th. Omari joins us from the Ann Arbor Art Center, where he has been responsible for growing their financial capacity and resources, managing highly visible public arts projects for the City of Ann Arbor and supervising the development staff. Prior to joining the Ann Arbor Art Center in 2014, he worked as education manager of University Musical Society (UMS) for nearly a decade.

Omari also serves as vice chair for the governor-appointed Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs since 2013 and is on the board of directors for the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, as well as Arts Midwest. In addition, he is on an advisory committee for the Association of Performing Arts Professionals.

We invite you to meet Omari and welcome him to CultureSource at our Annual Member Meeting on Wednesday, October 4th at MOCAD, 9am to 12pm. Featured panelists include Meredith Freeman, The Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation, Alycia Socia, The Kresge Foundation, and Alison Watson, MCACA, on the current state of arts and culture funding in our region, as well as equity, inclusion and diversity training with Nonprofit Network. The meeting concludes with an optional lunch discussion, part of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan’s On the Table daylong community-wide program.
