February 4th – February 25th
Saturdays 5-7pm
PuppetART, The Detroit Puppet Theatre, is proud to host a celebration of the American Folk-Blues Festival in observance of Black History Month. Each Saturday in February at 5pm we will honor the unique and historic European broadcasts made between 1962 and 1969 which feature such legendary American performers as Howlin' Wolf, Big Mama Thornton, Buddy Guy, Skip James, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and many others. The first and final events will include a lecture by our special guest, Jahra Michelle McKinney. Join her and us and get to know these amazing musicians for yourself!
