House Industries Happy Hour: Hot Rods & Design

August 16th
6-8pm
Join House Industries co-founder Andy Cruz, Ford exterior design director Craig Metros, freehand pinstriper Angelo Cruz, artist Chris "Coop" Cooper, Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation's chief curator Marc Greuther, and Galpin Auto Sports lead custom builder Dave Shuten for a panel discussion on how a lifelong fascination with cars led to careers in fields as disparate as pinstriping, typography, fabrication, fine art, hot rodding, illustration and, of course, present and future automotive design. Moderated by Mark Borden, creative-at-large for The New York Times, this lively roundtable will explore how brushes, ink, paint, metal, fiberglass, clay, chrome, and horsepower all converge into forms, functions, and inspirations that influence every facet of our visual culture

On the third Wednesday of June, July and August, Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation will keep its doors open until 8pm to offer design fans the opportunity to experience the House Industries exhibition, House Industries: A Type of Learning, with special guests and demonstrations. Lamy’s Diner will be open for dinner, and a cash bar will be available. The House Happy Hours are free to members and to guests with museum admission.
