The shingle style house is ranked among Michigan's most important historic buildings. A Detroit industrialist, Charles Lang Freer established one of the world's greatest collections of Asian and American art in his home. The lecture series features notable speakers in art, architecture and history highlighting the Detroit, national and international story and legacy of Freer. Today, the Freer House also serves as the headquarters of the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute, Wayne State University.
