The 88 page full color catalogue published by MOCAD documents the survey of Mitchnick’s work organized by the museum in 2016. The catalogue includes essays by founding board members Lynn Crawford and Marsha Miro and is the first extensive publication about Mitchnick’s work. The book was designed by Lorraine Wild.

Nancy Mitchnick, one of the few women associated with the celebrated group of Cass Cooridor artists in the late 60’s, left Detroit for New York in 1973. She has lived all over the country, holding a series of teaching jobs from Cal Arts to Harvard. She returned to her hometown about five years ago, taking a studio in the Russell Industrial Center. Her work is described as having rhythmic brushstrokes and a charge of abstract structure

The artist will be available to sign copies of the catalogue which will be available for purchase in the MOCAD Store for $40 for Non-Members $36 for members
