In this class, participants will learn one exposed spine bookbinding technique, called a Coptic Stitch. We will begin with raw materials, and understand how to cover book boards, prepare them for sewing, cut/fold signatures and a Coptic stitch.

Christine Darragh, owner and operator of Dark Oak Bindery has been making and selling handbound books and journals since 2010, after taking classes at Hollander's in Ann Arbor, MI, a nationally-known resource for bookbinding instruction and supplies. She has taught classes and held workshops since 2016, sharing her love and passion for book arts.
