Cranbrook Institute of Science invites guests age 21 and older to explore the history of making (and drinking) alcohol in the ancient world. Dr. Max Nelson will examine the history of food, drink, sex, and the games. Cash bar serving beer, wine, and gustatio. Guests can tour Ancient Rome: Age of the Caesars, presented by Flagstar Bank, and visit the Science Shop to purchase a token of love and make a souvenir beverage coaster. Nelson's book, The Barbarian's Beverage: A History of Beer in Ancient Europe will be available for purchase/signing. Attendees required to show Government-issued ID upon check-in.
