Friendship Circle Dresner Foundation Soul Studio in West Bloomfield, Michigan is a state-of-the-art studio offering programs for adults with special needs.  Our individualized programs respond to the physical, cognitive, and creative accommodations our artists need to bring forth their creative expression via various mediums, including:

  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Printmaking
  • Ceramics
  • Photography
  • Digital Arts
  • Weaving
  • Woodworking

Artwork created by our artists is exhibited in our professionally curated gallery viewed by hundreds of visitors each week.  You can learn more about our studio at www.friendshipcircle.org/soul.

The Soul Studio seeks an Art Studio Manager to oversee the overall business of the studio, from program recruitment, to gallery exhibitions, to art instruction.  The Manager must have an advanced understanding of how to both develop and achieve studio goals. 

Essential Functions:

  • Management of art studio from an operational and business perspective
  • Recruit, train, lead, and assess staff, volunteers, and artists
  • Conceptualize and execute various gallery exhibitions, events, and shows
  • Work interdepartmentally with development and marketing to drive awareness and increase participation
  • Communicate with diverse groups

Preferred Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Background in overall studio operations
  • Passion for leadership
  • Excellent organizational skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Training and professional teaching experience in a variety of studio art activities
  • Experience as a curator
