Position Description

The Corporate and Foundations Relations Manager is responsible for supporting the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Partnerships in prospecting, cultivation and stewardship of the College’s corporate donors, and acts as a contact with College funders. The primary objective of this position is to assist in stewarding corporate relationships for academic sponsored research projects and supporting internal logistical management of corporate partnerships. Additionally, this position will support foundation relations as needed.

Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions

  • Ensure understanding among all CCS stakeholders regarding academic sponsored project requirements and responsibilities, through the creation of source documents and/or detailed discussions and facilitated meetings.
  • Set up and maintain sponsored project corporate calendar with corporate partners, administrative and academic departments.
  • Manage administrative tasks associated with academic sponsored projects.
  • Plan and execute successful site visits for corporate representatives.
  • Manage, cultivate, solicit and steward select corporate partnerships as directed by the Senior Director.
  • Perform prospect research on corporations and foundations as needed, and help to prioritize recommendations for funding opportunities.
  • Develop thorough understanding of the focus areas within Institutional Advancement, as well as the overall need and areas of the College’s work; bring ideas for prospects and strategies to administrative colleagues.
  • Brief academic leadership, faculty and other staff in preparation for cultivation and stewardship interactions and debrief as appropriate.
  • Work closely with Marketing Department to create opportunities for corporate partner recognition.
  • Act as point of contact for corporate inquires and correspondence.
  • Develop formal procedure for corporate inquires and correspondence on CCS website.
  • Produce effective and timely post-award stewardship reports and acknowledgements to corporate donors.
  • Strategically engage corporate contacts through development, educational, and other networking events.
  • Participate in or lead community initiatives or competitions as needed as directed by the Senior Director.
  • Assist with various CCS related events as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and set and meet deadlines;
  • Articulate, confident, professional, with the drive and skills needed to work effectively with the Colleges’ leadership and its high-level community leaders;
  • A consensus builder with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with administrators, peers, faculty and staff;
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external constituencies in a sophisticated corporate environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills;
  • Superior writing skills and ability to conceptualize and execute proposals, correspondence, and other associated communications;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Two plus years of experience in one more of the following preferred: corporate, foundation, major gifts, annual gifts or arts fundraising;
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge database preferred;
  • Some travel and evenings required.
