CulturePop

Outdoor, audience-building arts programming in Downtown Detroit

CulturePop funds simple, engaging arts and culture activations in Detroit parks in an effort to help CultureSource member organizations build new audiences and share their talents.

We work with our partners at the Gilbert Family Foundation, Downtown Detroit Partnership, and Detroit Parks Coalition to bring outdoor, engagement-driven arts and cultural programming to public spaces each year.

Grants of $4000 are issued to organizations to support their activation.

More Information

The CulturePop program funds simple, quick arts and culture activations in Downtown Detroit spaces in efforts to help arts and culture organizations build new audiences and continue their work in public space. Each year, the program serves as a challenge for CultureSource membership to adapt in-person programming to various parameters.

Proposed projects should be logistically-simple, encourage physical-distancing, and focus on what would make a passerby stop, watch, learn, and participate. Proposed projects can be adapted tried-and-true programs or newly developed, innovative programs.
